The last thing we did in Kyoto was visit the Fushimi Inari Shrine. It is said to have 1,000 tori. There were sooooo many. It also had probably 1,000 steps or more. We DEFINITELY got our workout that day. They were doing construction on the first gate, so it didn't make for a good picture.
We saw a man come out of this area. We were so confused!
Then we realized he had been feeding the shrine cats.
Loafing shrine cat.
There were tons of these mini tori all over the place.
Someone lit a candle.
A cat had been ON one of the tori, but I missed my opportunity to get a picture.
View from one of the lookout spots.
This is the top. No viewpoint. It was kind of anti-climatic, we had been warned earlier in the day, though.
Way down, we took a different path.
Lit up path from above.
Vending machine. in. the. middle. of. a. SHRIINE! Lol
This path let us out in a different part than we had come from, so we had to use our maps to get us back to the station. It was a SUPER PACKED, COULD HAVE BEEN A WEEK kind of day!
