Pokémon "Fossil" Exhibit

The Natural History Museum in Toyohashi has an exhibit running through mid November which includes Pokemon Fossils. We went on a holiday, and for once we gave our oldest, G, a choice on whether or not to come.  He loves Pokemon, so it was a tough choice.  He decided not to, so it was just three of us.

On the left is the Pokémon, on the right, the fossils the creatures they were based on.

There were professors here to explain how everything worked.  It was all written in Japanese, but there were also other languages available via a QR code on your phone.  Basically, certain Pokemon are actually based on real life creatures that actually existed.  One one side would be the real life creature, then the other would talk about the Pokémon that was based on that fossil. They also showed the Pokémon and real fossils.

Kabuto had red light up spots underneath, but it was hard to get a good picture.

Loved the big eyes!

Teeny tiny fossils.

As we were leaving the exhibit, this guy was there to eat your bottles that needed to be recycled!

Philip did exactly what you shouldn't and put his hand in the mouth.  Hahahaha.

It was a cool display.  I didn't know some of these Pokémon were based on fossils of actual living things.  Learn something new every day!
