Our First Two Days

The first morning, we ate in the hotel. This was automatically served to us. The rest of the food was available buffet style, but you had to be masked and had to wear gloves while serving yourself. The Covid-19 safety measures are strict here. We've seen just about 99% of people masking at all times. The stores we have gone in all have temperature checks at their doors. They also had miso soup, rice, cereal, fruit, yogurt, and salad at the buffet.

We went to the nearby train station, which also has a mall in it. This was before the stores opened. After they opened, it was much more crowded.

Capsule toys! There was a wide variety to choose from.

We thought this was funny.

Battery covers! Cute, but why?

Kawaii! かわいい‼️

I had these toys as a child. I still have them in storage somewhere.

Our son, C, has tiger in his Japanese name. He liked this.

Card holders for switch games! Love it!

There was a wearable art exhibit. Papa P and I put one on.
I love that they take to opportunity to make things more attractive  when they can. The manhole covers in the states are boring and ugly.
We found the catbus and Totoro!
Went in the Disney store. It had a different feel then the ones in the states. There were also capsule toy machines.
We tried this smoothie.
Just a cool restaurant.
View from one of our rooms at night.

We went to eat ramen. We bought the ramen and extras (like egg) from a vending machine that gave us tickets. Then we went upstairs and circled how spicy we wanted it, how strong we wanted the broth, etc. We each sat in our own cubicle where we could refill our own water and get our own utensils. Every place we have been to eat so far has wet tissues to clean your hands before eating.

There is a call button for the server. You could show them any of these wooden tokens.
I ordered an egg. It came with this.
We've been in a hotel in downtown Nagoya for two days now. Tomorrow morning we make the trek to our new home in the suburbs.
